Hi, my name is Gianluca, I’m the CEO here at Yacht Club Fitness and I’m a Sport Scientist. I’m glad to share with you valuable contents about training and nutrition in order to let you improve your health and, at the same time, let you better enjoy your sailing days.
I deeply believe in the value of knowledge and, in fields like physical training and nutrition, science based knowledge helps us to get the best out of ourselves and, at the same time, to avoid wrong and dangerous habit, sometimes caused by fake infos and myths.
Only by understanding how things work we can truly change and improve ourselves.
For long time the relevance of physical training on sailing world was really poor. In few decades the knowledge about the physiological requests of sailing increased exponentially. Depending on which kind of boat and aim, different factors affect health and performance of the sailor.
The aim of Yacht Club Fitness is to support all kind of sailors with valuable services for their health and performance.

Often we don’t think about the work our body has to undergo when sailing. Still, if we knew the physical requirements and the risks related to the sailing practice, we would be more prepared and able to enjoy sailing without worries. Better fitness – better sailing is inspired by the latest scientific researches to offer you short training programs addressed to people of different levels of fitness and different requirements. With no gym and no tool, if not just a ball and an elastic band. These short routines are addressed to inactive subjects as well as active sailors. Finally, a special attention is paid to the typical gestures of any sailor, analyzed and reviewed under a biomechanical point of view in order to reduce to the minimum issues and injuries while sailing.
